Why ceramic tint

You used to need dark film to stay cool.

Old dyed films kept the car cool by being dark, and they faded purple within a few summers. XPEL PRIME XR PLUS uses nano-ceramic particles to block infrared heat, so even a lighter shade keeps the cabin comfortable. In an EV, less A/C load can mean a little more range.

Every XPEL PRIME film blocks over 99% of UV, which is good for your skin and your interior. All of them carry a lifetime transferable warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking and fading.

01

Up to 96% IR heat rejection

PRIME XR PLUS is XPEL's top ceramic film. You'll feel it on your arm the first sunny drive.

02

99% UV protection

Equivalent to SPF 1,000. It blocks the rays that damage skin and fade dashboards and seats.

03

Less glare

Easier on your eyes driving into the sunrise on the LIE, and at night with headlights coming at you.

04

Privacy and security

Darker rear glass keeps valuables out of sight, and the film helps hold shattered glass together.

05

Never turns purple

Ceramic and colour-stable films don't fade or bubble, which is why the warranty is lifetime.

Questions we hear a lot

What tint is legal in New York?
On every vehicle, the front side windows have to let through at least 70% of light, and windshield tint is limited to the top 6 inches. Sedans and coupes need 70% on the rear side windows too. SUVs, vans and trucks can go as dark as they like behind the driver, and any car with mirrors on both sides can go dark on the rear window. The full NY tint law guide has the details.
How much does window tint cost?
Packages start at $199. The price depends on the vehicle, how many windows and which film line you pick. Tell us the car and we'll quote it the same day.
How long does tint take to dry?
Keep the windows up for 3 to 5 days. Small water pockets or a little haze are normal for a week or two while the film cures.
What does VLT mean?
Visible light transmission, the percentage of light the glass lets through. 70% is light and 5% is limo. More in tint percentages explained.
Can I see what it will look like first?
Yes. Load a photo of your own car into our tint simulator, or stop by and we'll hold samples up to your glass.
Does ceramic tint interfere with phone or GPS signals?
No. Ceramic tint has no metal in it, so your phone, GPS, toll tag and keyless entry all work normally.
